Jade

Nominated Supervisor & Director, Early Childhood Teacher (ECT).

Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood (0-8 years), Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma, Anaphylaxis). 

 

Jade has worked in early learning environments (ELE) for just over 20 years, 14 of which were as an Early Childhood Teacher and 2ic/Nominated Supervisor and 5 of which have been as Nominated Supervisor and Director of Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre.

 

Jade is passionate about working with families from an Indigenous heritage and educating others on indigenous culture. Jade is in the process of developing a Reconcilliation Action Plan (RAP) for our service which aims to have indigenous culture embedded in our everyday practices and environments. Many considerations have already been made when Jade assisted in the design of our backyard renovation. In consultation with an Indigenous Australian, the backyard includes a yarning circle, signage that includes aboriginal symbols, a bush tucker garden including sugar bag hives. Jade continues to strive to implement Indigenous customs and culture within the service everyday. 

 

Jade is also incredibly passionate about advocacy for others and promoting inclusion and the rights of others in everything she does. Since working at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre, Jade managed to connect with SDN, and the centre was signed on as a satellite centre for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from 2016 to 2018 and only completed this union due the government funding cuts. Jade has ensured all of the educators have been highly trained and possess the skills and expertise to support children with ASD and their families. Jade has also managed to partner with Nova Employment and Ability Options and regularly assists young adults with intellectual disabilities achieve the necessary skills and experience required for employment. Jade has a real passion for inclusion and this is evident in the relationships she builds with her local community. 

 

Jade is passionate about supporting families through the diagnosis and early intervention process and also speaks key-word sign language. Jade has four children, three of which have a diagnosis of high functioning ASD, so she understands on a personal level the struggle families go through on a day to day basis.

 

Jade has four beautiful children aged between 9 months and 20 years old and a loving husband who is supportive of her role at the service. 


Ling

Adminstration Officer

Bachelor of Science: Majoring in accounting and computer science. 

Ling has previously worked in manufacturing and construction environment back home in Malaysia and is used to working with a variety of different people from diverse backgrounds.

 

In 2011 Ling decided to have a change in career and came on board with Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre as one of the administration officers. She speaks four languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay and English and is a wonderful asset to our team. She often liaises with our families in their mother tongue, which encourages them to feel welcomed and loved by all team members.

 

Ling is passionate about working with families of diverse backgrounds and is also passionate about organisational structure and working with reporting systems. Ling has three beautiful teenage children and a loving husband who all support her role at the service.


Wency

Administration Officer

Bachelor of Business. 

Wency has worked in many different roles over her career and in 2012 she decided to become an administration officer at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre.

 

Wency speaks three languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, and English and is a wonderful asset to our team. She often liaises with our families in their mother tongue, which encourages them to feel welcomed and loved by all team members.

 

Wency is passionate about working with families of diverse backgrounds and going above and beyond to make all families feel welcome at our service. Wency is also passionate about the outdoors and love spending her time in the outdoors with her husband and two teenage children.


Jessica

Kookaburra's (0-2 years)  Diploma Educator, Certified Supervisor

Diploma of Children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis). 

 

Jessica is only new to the early education sector and has worked at our service for almost 3 years. She started off filling in for a maternity leave position, then gained full time employment as a Diploma educator in the 2-3's room and is now the room leader of the babies room.

 

Jessica is passionate about working with families of all backgrounds and loves learning about different cultures. Jessica is also passionate about teaching children through hands on experiences and believes that children can learn a lot by handling pets in a service and interacting with the natural environment.

 

Jessica is still quite young but is looking forward to a rewarding career working in the early education sector. Both her fiance and fur baby are supportive of her role at the service.


 

Kim

Kookaburra's (0-2 years) Diploma Educator, Certified Supervisor

Diploma of Children’s Services, Certificate III in children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis). 

 

Kim has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for six years now, 5 of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. During her time at the service she has shown outstanding leadership qualities and worked in a variety of roles.

 

Kim is passionate about workers’ rights and is a keen union delegate who strives to fight for professionalism across the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector. She is heavily involved in the Big Steps Campaign for United Voice Union. Kim is also very passionate about educating children with additional needs, and has many years’ experience as a parent of a child who had a learning disability.

 

Kim has two grown up children and a supportive husband who are involved in service functions as much as practical.


Isaac

3IC - Kookaburra's (0-2 years) Certificate III Educator,  Certified Supervisor , Sustainability Officer.

Certificate III in children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis), Certificate II in Hospitality.

 

Isaac has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for 11 years, 4 of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. During his time at the service he has worked with all age groups, and prefers to be an ‘outdoor’ educator as he is passionate about sustainabilty. 

 

Isaac is passionate about teaching children about the natural environment through hands on experiences and he believes that children should be exposed to risky play, as it fosters stronger development in problem solving, emotional regulation and social skills.

 

Isaac is a loving father of three young children – all who are under school age.


Matthew 

Kookaburra's (0-2 years) Trainee Educator

Studying a Certificate III in Children’s Services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis). 

 

Matthew has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for 4.5 years, all of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. Matthew has worked with all age groups and is enjoying working closely with children who have additional needs – in particular those who have autism.

 

Matthew is an Indigenous Australian and is passionate about working with families from similar background but most interested in helping those with Autism. Matthew has an innate ability to relate to both the children with Autism and their parents offering comfort during times of need and guidance on where to find further help.

 

Matthew has had many years experience working in children’s ministries in his church and is looking forward to a rewarding career working in the early education industry.


Corinne

Blue Wren's (2-3 years) Room Leader, Diploma Educator, Certified Supervisor

Diploma Children's Services, Certificate III children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis).

 

Corinne has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for more than 4 years, 3 years of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. Corinne is an Indigenous Australian and is very proud to share her heritage with others.

 

Corinne aspires to become an Indigenous Australian Early Childhood Liaison educator and is hoping to link in with the local aboriginal elders and the community. She is passionate about educating her peers, children and families on the importance of Aboriginal Culture

 

Corinne is also incredibly passionate about fitness and is currently the service's munch and move ambassador for physical movement and activity. She is always looking for opportunities to encourage children to learn their fundamental movement skills and enjoys supporting families in leading healthy and active lifestyles.

 

Corinne is only young but is looking forward to a lifelong career in working with children and their families and is hopeful to be able to work closely with helping Aboriginal Families access early education environments as well as promote physical fitness within centre programs. Corinne is supported in her role at the service by her fiance.

Rachel

Assistant Director/2ic - Blue Wren's (2-3 years) Early Childhood Teacher, Certified Supervisor

Master of Teaching (birth - 5 years), Bachelor of Science (Forensic Science), Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis).

 

Rachel is only new to our service but has worked in the early education sector for five years, after completing her Masters of Teaching (Birth to Five Years), with a focus on infant and toddler pedagogy. She originally completed a Bachelor of Science (Forensic Science) but soon found this was not where her true passion lies, finding that instead in the education of young children.  Rachel also has a wealth of knowledge in the EYLF, NQF, NSW regulations and legislation as well as experience in leading a large team.

 

Rachel is incredibly passionate about working with the infants and toddlers; she recognises this age group is often left behind when it comes to early education, due to the social misconception that they are simply ‘waiting to learn’ and not driven by an innate desire to learn from the moment they are born.


Jaya

Blus Wren's (2-3 years) Diploma Educator, Certified Supervisor, Playgroup Coordinator 

Diploma of Children’s Services, Certificate III in children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis). 

 

Jaya has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for 16 years, all of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. During her time at the service she has worked with all age groups and really enjoys seeing children develop their personalities.

 

Jaya is passionate about working with families from diverse backgrounds, connecting with the local community, Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and more recently has stepped up to be the playgroup coordinator. With guidance from Jade (Director) and Luke (Senior Minister of Blacktown Church), Jaya runs the playgroup during school terms with confidence and ease, and is thoroughly enjoying building relationships and connections with families from our local community. 

 

Jaya speaks three languages, Hindi, Marathi and English. Jaya has two grown children and a supportive husband.


Pinky

Blue Wren's (2-3's) Certificate III Educator

Certificate III in Children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis), Studying Diploma in Children's Services. 

 

Pinky has worked in the early childhood environment (ELE) for 2 years with all of those years at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. She started off as a student completing her practical experience at the service, and due to her outstanding performance she soon gained casual employment and now works full time. Pinky is passionate about sharing her culture with others and looks forward to helping the service plan events that celebrate her culture. 

 

Pinky enjoys working with all children and in all rooms and loves specifically working with the toddlers room. She shows an innate ability to help new children settle when transitioning to the service or to the room from another room. She is often seen speaking in her mother tongue to the children which helps them feel as though they belong - especially when English is not their first language. She has proven to be a real asset to the service. Pinky speaks Hindi and can understand Punjabi as well.


Sharlene

Blue Wren's (2-3's) Certificate III Educator

Certificate III in Children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis), Studying Diploma in Children's Services. 

 

Sharlene has worked in the early childhood environment (ELE) for 9 months with all of those years at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. She started off as a student completing her practical experience at the service, and due to her outstanding performance she soon gained casual employment and now works full time. Sharlene is passionate about sharing her culture with others and looks forward to helping the service plan events that celebrate her culture. 

 

Sharlene enjoys working with all children and in all rooms and loves specifically working with the toddlers room. She shows an innate ability to help children with additional needs settle when transitioning to the service or to the room from another room. She is often seen singing and dancing through the day which makes children feel at ease in their happy place. Sharlene is from the Cook Islands and speaks Cooki as well.


Harrison

Blue Wren's (2-3 years) Trainee Educator

Studying Certificate III in children's services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management)

 

Harrison is only new to the early education sector and has worked at our service for the past 18 months. During this time Harrison has worked with both the preschoolers and babies rooms and has discovered he has a real gift at connecting with children and helping them feel settled at the service. Harrison has a real passion for helping children belong at the centre and for developing quality relationships with both children and their families.

 

Harrison enjoys implementing science experiments with children of all ages and he brings a real sense of fun and laughter to the environment. Harrison is also passionate for workers rights and in his short time as an employee at the service has become a union leader - educating others on the Big Steps Campaign and how they too can become involved in the union. Harrison looks forward to a long rewarding career in early childhood and one day aspires to become a teacher.


Lucy

Rosella’s (3-5 years) Room Leader, Diploma Educator, Educational Leader, Certified Supervisor

Certificate III in children’s services, Diploma in children's services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis), Studying Bachelor of Education (0-5 years).

 

Lucy has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for 10 years, 3.5 of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. Lucy has worked in a variety of roles and worked as a casual educator for an agency before joining our team. 

 

Lucy is passionate about health and fitness. She is a fully qualified personal trainer. She uses her passions to drive our physical education programs and has implemented many health initiatives at our service. Lucy is also passionate about mentoring and coaching staff to improve their practices and she has recently been appointed our educational Leader - a role she takes incredibly serious. 

 

Lucy speaks Vietnamese and English. She has a wonderful supportive husband and is the proud mother of a beautiful little girl.


Maria

Rosella's (3-5 years) Early Childhood Teacher, Certified Supervisor

Bachelor of Education birth to eight years, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis). 

 

Maria has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for more than 32 years, 4.5 of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. Maria has worked in many different services, in many different roles with many different family units in many different socio-economic areas.

 

Maria is passionate about working with families from a low-socioeconomic area and those who are more vulnerable in our society. Maria is also highly passionate about working with families who need additional assistance.

 

Maria has 5 children of her own, many grandchildren and absolutely loves spending time with them outside of working hours. Between her children and grandchildren, Maria has many years of experience in working with children who have additional needs.


Shiwani

Rosella's (3-5 years) Diploma Educator 

Diploma in Children's Services, Certificate III in Children’s Services, Diploma in Children's Services Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis). 

 

Shiwani started off as a student completing her practical experience at the service, and due to her outstanding performance she soon gained casual employment and later a fixed term contract till the end of 2019.

 

Shiwani is able to work with all children and in all rooms and loves specifically working with the Preschoolers room. She has proven to be a real asset to the service. Shiwani speaks Hindi and can understand Punjabi as well.


Jingyu (Lily)

Rosella's (2-3 years) Diploma Educator

Certificate III in children's services, Diploma in children's services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management), Studying Bachelor of Education.

 

Lily is only new to the early education sector and has worked at our service for the past 18 months. During this time Lily has worked with both the preschoolers and babies rooms and has discovered she has a real gift at connecting with children and helping them feel settled at the service. Lily has a real passion for helping children belong at the centre and for developing quality relationships with both children and their families.

 

Lily started at the centre as a student doing her placement for the certificate III course. She was such a great student and asked to come back to do her placement for her diploma course. We also offered her a casual educator position whilst she studied. At the beginning of 2020, Lily was offered a permanent part time position with the service and she started studying her Bachelor of Education as well. Lily is a great educator and we are blessed to have her be part of the team.

Fawzia

Rosella’s (3-5 years) Certificate III Educator

Certificate III in children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis), Bachelor of Science: Chemistry and Biology. 

 

Fawzia has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for 20 years, all of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. Fawzia has spent her time working with all age groups and children of all abilities.

 

Fawzia is passionate about creating positive experiences for children and warm friendly environments. Fawzia is also passionate about teaching children to respect diversity and understand about equality.

 

Fawzia speaks both English and Dare. Fawzia has two grown children who moving onto the next phase in their lives (i.e. marriage and families) and both Fawzia and her husband love being grandparents to their beautiful baby granddaughter.


Laura

Rosella's (3-5 years) Certificate III Educator

Certificate III in Children's Services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis) Studying Diploma in children’s services.

 

Laura has worked in early learning environments (ELE) for the past 4 years, all of which have been at this service. She comes from a background of years of working with children with additional needs in swimming lessons. She is incredibly passionate about helping children with additional needs learn new skills and has a particular interest in helping with with Autism Spectrum Disorder. 

 

Laura is looking forward to pursuing her career in early childhood and eventually becoming an Early Childhood Teacher.


Karen

Service Cook and Menu Planner, Diploma Educator, Certified Supervisor

Diploma in Children's Services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis) Certificates in Food Handling and Menu Planning.

 

Karen has recently changed careers and moved to the early education industry, and has been employed for the past 3.5 years at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. Karen has worked in many different catering roles but has always been searching for something more in her career and now she is in Early Education she feels she has finally found her calling.

 

Karen is passionate about teaching children about Nutrition, the importance of growing their own food and preparing their own food in delicious recipes. She is also passionate about educating families and her peers on the importance of good nutrition and meeting the dietary requirements for children according to the National dietary guidelines.

 

Karen has two grown children whom she is very proud of and a supportive hubby and extended family.


Cassie

Diploma Educator, Certified Supervisor - Maternity Leave

Diploma in Children's Services, Certificate III in Children's Services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis).

 

Cassie has worked in the early learning environments (ELE) for 4 years, all of which have been at Blacktown Anglican Child Care Centre. Cassie is currently employed permanently as a leave educator. With the flexible nature of her role, she is able to continue to develop relationships with all children and their families across the centre. Cassie also has been involved with children’s ministries within her church for many years prior to joining our team.

 

Cassie is passionate about documenting children's learning through play by taking quality photographs whilst they play. She is also passionate about camping and loves when the children explore both photography and camping in play. Cassie is right in her element and really knows how to extend their interests in these projects.

Cassie is loving her youth at the moment and really enjoying spending time with her friends and family.


Sakshi

Casual Educator

Diploma in Children's Services, Certificate III in Children’s services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis).

Sakshi started off as a student completing her practical experience at the service, and due to her outstanding performance she soon gained casual employment, followed by full time employment for 1 year and now a casual educator.

 

Sakshi likes working with all children and in all rooms and loves specifically working with the preschool room. She has proven to be a real asset to the service. Sakshi is often seen implementing her culture within the program, using her mother tongue to communicate with the children from her background in the room.

 

Sakshi speaks Hindi and can understand Punjabi as well. Sakshi is a mum to two beautiful children and is supported by her loving husband.


Amritpal

Casual Diploma Educator

Diploma in Children's Services, Certificate III in Children's Services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis).

 

Amritpal started off as a student completing her practical experience at our service, due to her outstanding performance, she soon gained casual employment as well as short term full time employment to fill in for staff on leave

 

Amritpal is able to work with all children in all age groups of all abilities. Amritpal loves working with the toddlers age group. She has proven to be a real asset to the service. Amritpal speaks Punjabi, Hindi and English. 


Vineet

Casual Diploma Educator

Diploma in Children's Services, Certificate III in Children's Services, Senior First Aid Certificate (CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis).

 

Vineet started off as a student completing her practical experience at our service, due to her outstanding performance, she soon gained casual employment.

 

Vineet is able to work with all children in all age groups of all abilities. Vineet loves working with the toddlers age group. She has proven to be a real asset to the service. Vineet speaks Punjabi, Hindi and English.
